BRAIN & BRAIN PET 2019, the 29th International Symposium on Cerebral Blood Flow, Metabolism and Function in conjunction with the 14th International Conference on Quantification of Brain Function with PET was held in Yokohama (Japan) from July 4 – 7, 2019.

The four-day interactive conference included diverse topics within the area of neuroscience research, particularly those related to brain function and metabolism, cerebral blood flow, the function of the neurovascular unit and the blood-brain barrier, brain imaging, brain repair and cerebrovascular pathology.

Isadora Lopes Alves (VU university medical center) was invited to speak at one of the BRAIN PET educational courses preceding the BRAIN & BRAIN PET conference. She provided an overview of the AMYPAD project including its objectives, partners and the plans of the AMYPAD sub-studies namely “Diagnostic and patient management study” and “Prognostic Natural History Study”. The first achievements were also presented.

We were also pleased that the AMYPAD abstract entitled “Simulating the effect of cerebral blood flow changes on quantification of [18F]flutemetamol and [18F]florbetaben studies” submitted by Fiona Heeman (VU university medical center) was accepted as an oral presentation.
