AMYPAD at #ADPD2025

The AD/PD™ 2025 International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases and related neurological disorders was held this year as a hybrid conference in Vienna, Austria, and online, from 1-5 April, 2025. The groundbreaking series of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases Conferences attract international medical and scientific professionals worldwide. The Conference remains at the forefront of unraveling the mechanisms and improving the treatment of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other related neurodegenerative diseases. AD/PD™ Conferences uniquely combine distinct neurodegenerative diseases in one setting and examine their similarities and differences; a strong focus is mechanisms of disease, prevention, and therapy.

We were pleased that the AMYPAD project continues to be featured at the conference, even after the conclusion of its IMI funding period. Attendees were able to receive an array of informative AMYPAD, EPAD and Euro-PAD oral talks:

  • Symposium “WHITE MATTER ALTERATIONS AND MRI”
“Polygenic Pathways Shape White Matter Vulnerability To Alzheimer’s Disease Pathology” – Mario Tranfa
“White Matter Integrity Measures Have Distinct Csf Proteomic Profiles In Non-Demented Subjects” – Luigi Lorenzini
  • Symposium “INSIGHTS FROM GENETICS 01” “Associations between polygenic risk scores and global amyloid deposition in the European AMYPAD consortium” – Emma S. Luckett
  • Symposium “WHITE MATTER ALTERATIONS”
“Grey/White Matter Contrast Alterations Precede Amyloid Positivity And Atrophy Markers” – Leonard Pieperhoff
  • Symposium “MRI”
“AI-Driven Classification Of Alzheimer’s Disease And Frontotemporal Dementia From Magnetic Resonance Imaging” – Robin Wolz

The harmonised AMYPAD data from the Prognostic and Natural History Study, including amyloid PET and MRI derivatives, clinical, and neuropsychological data, are available on the AD Workbench of the Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative. Another data release is planned later this year, so watch this space!

During the conference, Natàlia Vilor Tejedor also presented the ADWorkbench at the session hosted by the Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative, exploring how data sharing, global collaboration, and novel approaches and technologies are advancing scientific discovery in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias research.
