The first edition of the EU-MIND (EUropean Meeting on Imaging of Neurodegenerative Diseases) congress took place from September 25-27, 2024 in Caen, France. This landmark event was the first European congress dedicated to neuroimaging in neurodegenerative diseases, bringing together leading experts from across Europe and beyond to foster groundbreaking collaborations in Alzheimer’s disease research.

The congress kicked off with a pre-conference workshop titled “Getting Started with Neuroimaging Analysis” on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. This workshop aimed to provide new and early-career researchers with essential skills in neuroimaging methods and research, focusing on processing and interpreting neuroimaging data within the context of aging and dementia research.
Leonard Pieperhoff (VUMC Amsterdam) presented on imaging processing and analysis in the AMYPAD Prognostic and Natural History Study (PNHS). We were also pleased that Lyduine Collij (Amsterdam UMC & Lund University) presented during the third symposium “Opportunities and Challenges in Data Sharing in European Neuroimaging”, on Thursday, September 26. Her oral presentation, titled “From AMYPAD to EuroPAD – Creating a Multi-Cohort Preclinical Database to Model AD Disease Trajectories” showcased the AMYPAD project and the invaluable Prognostic and Natural History Study (PNHS) dataset, representing the largest European longitudinal dataset phenotyping people at risk of Alzheimer’s disease-related progression. She also mentionned that the AMYPAD consortium is currently evolving into its new phase, namely the Euro-PAD collaborative framework, and the dataset will be expanded in terms of variables and additional cohorts.
