AMYPAD's work on stress testing the centiloid is now available

Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging enables the measurement of cerebral amyloid beta (Aβ) pathology load and spread, a defining characteristic of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). To overcome limitations related to the standard uptake value ratio (SUVr), usually used for the quantification of amyloid PET, the Centiloid method was proposed to render standard units of Aβ load.

In this paper, authors developed a framework for evaluating Centiloid variability to different factors and provided guidelines for amyloid PET quantification using Centiloid under different clinical scenarios. They included 533 participants from the AMYPAD Diagnostic and Patient Management Study (DPMS) and the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) cohort.

This work was part of Mahnaz Shekari’s PhD. Congratulations to her and thanks to all AMYPAD collaborators for their valuable contributions!
