IMI holds its 10th Anniversary Scientific Symposium

At the IMI 10th anniversary scientific symposium, held on 22-23 October 2018 in Brussels, young scientists from IMI projects showcased the stellar science that IMI projects have been doing. The scientific programme covered four areas in four half-day sessions, reflecting the particular advantages of conducting research in public-private-partnership consortia:

  • New targets, tools and pathways
  • From concept to trial
  • New clinical and regulatory paradigms
  • Patient engagement along the value chain.

By looking at past achievements, IMI wanted also to look to the future and discussed IMI’s contribution to the preparation of the next generation of scientists and innovators. Both oral and poster presentations were opened to young researchers. The 72 posters and 25 oral presentations were selected by a Programme Committee comprising top experts.

Three AMYPAD abstracts were accepted for the IMI 10th anniversary Scientific Symposium:

  • The added value of quantitative amyloid PET in determining Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) dementia risk: the AMYPAD Prognostic and Natural History Study (Isadora Lopes Alves; poster) 
  • AMYPAD Diagnostic and Patient Management Study (AMYPAD-DPMS): rationale and study design (Daniele Altomare; poster) 
  • Quantitative PET Imaging – From Research to Clinical Use (Fiona Heeman; oral presentation).

You can download the two posters on the AMYPAD website and the oral presentation here.
