Lyduine Collij receives the Alzheimer Nederland Research Talent Award

On 15 November 2024, Dr. Lyduine Collij was honored with the Alzheimer Nederland Research Talent Award, in the post-doc 2-4 years after PhD category. This award is designed to support young and talented researchers in the field of dementia research.

As part of the award, Lyduine will receive €75,000 to further her work investigating why brain scans of people with Alzheimer’s disease differ from one another. The award recognises her outstanding scientific achievements and the societal relevance of her research in Alzheimer’s disease.

In response to receiving the award, Lyduine shared: ‘I am honored to receive this recognition of my work and look forward to further disentangle the biological underpinnings of disease heterogeneity I observed in amyloid-PET images. I did not do this work alone; the national and international partnerships have been key and I thank all my colleagues for the amazing collaborations across the past years!’.

Lyduine completed her PhD at VU University Medical Center Amsterdam, where she defended her thesis titled “The AMYPAD Project: Towards the Next Stage in Amyloid PET Imaging” in July 2021. Currently, she is continuing her ground-breaking research as a postdoctoral researcher at Amsterdam UMC and Lund University in Sweden.

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Lyduine on receiving the Alzheimer Nederland Research Talent Award. It is a well-deserved recognition of her research and valuable contributions to the field of Alzheimer’s disease.
